(Umno Online) – Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he was always ready and committed to meet and have dialogues with any non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to discuss national and social matters.

The prime minister said: “However, the meetings and dialogues must be carried out in a calm and positive manner so that they will benefit all of us.

“If we are sincere and open, the discussions and dialogues can bring positive outcomes for the common good,” he said in his latest entry in his blog, NajibRazak.com. here today.

Najib said this following the cancellation of the dialogue program between the prime minister and the NGOs titled ‘Nothing to Hide’ organised by Sukarelawan Peguam Malaysia (SukaGuam) which was planned to be held at the Dewan Tun Hussein Onn, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), here at 10am today.

Earlier, the Prime Minister’s Office disclosed in its Facebook website today that Najib did not attend the program due to the security factor as advised by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

Meanwhile at a press conference this afternoon, Khalid said the decision to direct the cancellation of the program was made as the police had received information that there would be security threats affecting public order.

Based on the information, the decision to cancel the dialogue was made under Section 103 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Khalid said.
