Sirul probably under orders to kill Altantuya: Mahathir

(Malay Mail Online) – Malaysia should not execute former police commando Sirul Azhar Umar if he murdered Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu under orders from his superiors, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today.

The former prime minister also repeated his previous insistence that the police must learn the identity of the person who gave the purported order to Sirul to kill the Mongolian.

“This is a very serious; you can’t accuse a person of murder unless you have absolute truth. But someone has been murdered and someone has done the murdering

“When he does what he’s told to do, you want to hang him. It’s not just, it’s not fair,” he said at a youth forum here today.
