Quit, tend to Anwar’s needs, Azizah told


(FMT) – The Opposition Leader is aging and needs a wife’s attention, says Cheras Umno chief.

Cheras Umno chief Syed Ali Alhabshee has urged Wan Azizah Ismail to step down from her position as PKR President, saying her time is better spent tending to the needs of her husband, jailed Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.

In a press statement posted at his blog, he said Wan Azizah, as her party’s president, held no function other than to act as Anwar’s

“Furthermore,” he added, “Anwar is getting old and needs a wife’s attention.”

He claimed, without citing any intelligence, that PKR supporters had lost faith in Anwar, and he condemned the candle-light vigils and “Kita Lawan” demonstrations to show support for the Opposition Leader.

He said both forms of support were foreign to Malay culture and against the law.
