I will cooperate, says Ismail Sabri

(The Rakyat Post) – Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is ready to cooperate with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) following his statement on the price of goods yesterday.

According to Ismail, he is waiting for a suitable date to give his statement to the police and he will give his full cooperation.

“The statement will be taken on a date set by the police and according to availability.

“If I have a cabinet meeting tomorrow, of course, it would not be possible. So when there is a suitable date, I will give my statement to the police,” he said today.

Commenting on a statement by MCA leaders, Ismail said he did not have any issue with the party and would adhere to the principle where if there was an issue relating to the Barisan Nasional (BN) it had to be discussed together.

He said, MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai should have discussed the matter with him.

“I am a minister and so is he, and usually if there is a problem, we will sit and discuss, but in this issue, he criticised me.

“If I am not smart, of course I will attack him, too, but it is not nice and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has always reminder Cabinet ministers to not argue publicly.

“This is not good for the cabinet and the Prime Minister. I respect Datuk Seri Najib as a leader and will not give any statement.”
