Is it not ironical that one tactical blunder by Pompey 2,077 years ago has caused so much problems for the world? Pompey made his move on the troublesome Jews but he went only halfway. He did not complete his job. And today the world is plagued with problems perpetuated by the Jews, Christians and Muslims.

Umno’s anti-Shia campaign cost Malaysia dearly
An aggressive anti-Shia campaign launched by the Malaysian government last year has taken its toll on the country’s economy, leaving the government millions of ringgit in losses after a backlash from predominantly Shia Iran, forcing a minister to seek help from PAS to restore ties, said a source.
Dr Syed Azman Ahmad Nawawi, who heads PAS’s international bureau, confirmed this, but declined to name the minister.
“It is true the minister contacted me for help,” Syed Azman told The Malaysian Insider.
The Batu Burok state assemblyman said Iran’s reaction to the anti-Shia campaign spearheaded by Umno has cost Malaysia dearly.
“The biggest loser is Petronas whose oil exploration in Iran has been met with hurdles from the Iranian government, while at the same time, American firms such as Esso and Conoco are making their way into the country,” added Syed Azman. (READ MORE HERE)

I remember back in the ‘old days’ of the 1950s when we were ‘taught’ that Indians who became Muslims (a.k.a. Mamak) were all originally from the Pariah or ‘untouchable’ caste. If they remained Hindus they would be considered lower than animals. Hence they became Muslims so that their status could be elevated somewhat.
Chinese, on the other hand, were all Communists who worshipped man-made statues. Chinese could never be trusted. They would cheat and short-change you so you must watch them like a hawk when they weigh anything because they will never give you the proper weight. They will put their thumb on the weighing scales to cheat you.
And there was no such thing as adultery to the Chinese. Anyone can have sex with anyone and that was not considered a sin to the Chinese. They were just like animals driven by lust. And all you needed to do was to tell a Chinese girl or woman you wanted to have sex with her and she would drop her pants and bend over.
As Muslims we were very fortunate. God has chosen us for heaven. All those born not Muslims were going to hell never mind how good they may be. Even bad Muslims would go to heaven if you repent (taubat) before you die. And if you do not taubat before you die you will spend a short time in hell and then would be transferred to heaven while those non-Muslims would remain in hell forever.
In short, ‘we’ are the chosen people and ‘they’ are the condemned people who we should not trust and become friends with.
That was what we were taught in the 1950s in the days before we became teenagers. Now, of course, we know that Islam reached China in the 700s, probably 500 or 600 years before the Malay Hindus and Buddhists became Muslims. And the Indians were already Muslims long before the Malays even heard the word ‘Islam’.
How ignorant we were in those days around the time of Merdeka. But then we were not born ignorant. We were indoctrinated into ignorance. We were ignorant because those teachers who taught us were ignorant. We were taught to become ignorant.
Malays, in particular Muslims, are told we must not learn by ourselves. We should not learn by reading books. If we do then Satan would become our teacher. We need to learn from a guru or a human. Only knowledge taught by a guru is valid. Anything we learn on our own from merely reading books is false knowledge.
I believed that at first. Now, of course, I believe that you need to seek knowledge any way you can. And I also believe that not all gurus are right. Many gurus are narrow-minded and steeped in prejudice.
If we talk to a non-Catholic Christian guru he would tell you that Catholics are infidels. And a Catholic guru would say the same about the non-Catholic Christians.
The Shia guru would say that all non-Shia are infidels. The Wahhabi guru would say the same thing about the non-Wahhabis. And the Sunnah wal-Jama’ah Muslims would also say the same about the non-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah Muslims.
In short, only I am right while all others are wrong.
Do you know who is to blame for all this? Yes, that’s right, the Romans. If in 63 BCE the Romans had finished off the Jews once and for all instead of just subduing Judea and turning it into a client kingdom, there would not be any Jews left alive. And if there were no Jews there would be no Christians and hence also no Muslims around today.
The patriarchal Abrahamic faith, Judaism, would not exist and the two offspring of this faith, Christianity and Islam, would also not exist. And the world, today, would be a very peaceful place.

One man’s blunder, Pompey, turned this world into a miserable place. Stupid Roman! And because of his stupidity we have to suffer for 2,077 years and maybe for thousands of years more.
