KJ tweets: Blame yourself Waytha, not PM

P Waytha Moorthy

(The Malaysian Times) – Hindraf chief P. Waytha Moorthy should be blamed for his failure, not the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, commented Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Khairy, today tweets, “Waythamoorthy should not blame PM for his failures in effecting change.

“He was not a team player and wasn’t effective in advocating his cause,” wrote Khairy in his official Twitter.

Khairy wrote: “Whenever Waythamoorthy brought matters to @NajibRazak‘s attn (attention), they were resolved.

“Fact is, Waythamoorthy demanded all govt (government) budgets for Indian community be parked under his discretion. That’s not how govt operates.

“Even without Waythamoorthy, the govt remains committed to developing Indian community & resolving issues re-education, poverty, JPN, etc.

“I know Waytha & didn’t want to have to reveal this. But when you pin blame unfairly on PM, I hv (have) no choice. Collective cabinet responsibility.”

Khairy’s tweet came in response to Waytha’s allegation that Najib, who is also the BN chairman, was the person to be blamed for not fulfilling the Barisan Nasional (BN) election pledges to the Indian community.

Despite the poor show on the Hindraf-BN agreed Blueprint’s implementation, Waytha, on February 10, tendered his resignation from the post of Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department to Najib and gave up his Senate on the following day.

Hindraf had expressed its frustrations on the BN government as it did not implement its Blueprint, aimed to uplift the poor Malaysian Indian community, although eight months has passed after the 13 General Election (GE13).
