Motorists urged to avoid roads around Bukit Jalil Stadium Friday to Sunday

(Bernama) – Several roads around Bukit Jalil Stadium will experience congestion due to UNMO’s 66th Anniversary celebrations to be held there from Friday to Sunday.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police in a statement released today advised the public to use alternative roads during the period to avoid getting caught in the traffic congestion.

According to the statement, roads which would be affected are the SUKOM intersection (Carrefour Sri Petaling), Jalan Merah Cagar, Jalan Barat, Awan Kecil intersection, Jalan Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil Expressway (Puchong Link), the Lumba Kuda roundabout exit from Kuala Lumpur – Seremban Highway and a part of Maju Expressway.

Police will close roads or create diversions depending on the situation at the material time while parking lots at the Bukit Jalil Stadium will be fully utilized and parking lots at Technology Park Malaysia and Kelab Lumba Kuda will be used for buses, according to the statement.

Meanwhile, in conjunction with Umno’s 66th Anniversary celebrations, Wanita Umno will organise ‘Mother’s Day’ celebrations themed ‘Mother I Love U’ (Saya Sayang Ibu) at the Bukit Jalil Stadium on Saturday.

Assistant Secretary Datuk Rosni Sojar said the celebration will be held at the National Stadium’s Expo site from 2pm to 5.30pm.
