Lawyer Kamar Ainiah sued for RM10mil for defamation

(The Star) – Lawyer Datuk Zainul Rijal Abu Bakar has filed a defamation suit against Syariah lawyer Kamar Ainiah Kamaruzaman and her law firm for RM10mil.

Datuk Mohd Haaziq Pillay, for Zainul Rijal, said in a press statement that the suit was over allegations made against his client who acted for three government officers in the Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim qazaf case.

The allegations were made by Kamar Ainiah during a press conference held in the Syariah court premises on Aug 18 last year.

The claim filed on Feb 13 was made available to the press on Wednesday.

The suit is fixed for case management before High Court judge Justice Vazeer Alam on March 14.
