Hasan Ali rapped over ‘republic’ remark
A Penang-based Malay NGO also urges the ex-PAS man to quit his elected rep post as a matter of principle.
(Free Malaysia Today) – A Penang-based Malay NGO has slammed axed PAS man Hasan Ali for causing disharmony and disunity among Malaysians with his seditious “republic” claims against Pakatan Rakyat.
Penang Malay Congress president Rahmad Isahak said Hassan was making an outrageous claim merely to sustain his political survival.
“He stirred sentiments of the Malaysian multiracial society. He has resorted to cheap political stunts to save his sinking political ship,” he told a press conference here yesterday.
Rahmad said that the former PAS vice-president should get his facts right before shooting his mouth off.
He said PMC found that Hasan’s seditious allegations were unfounded after holding dialogues with the leadership of Pakatan Rakyat parties, especially with senior ethnic Malay leaders from DAP.
“Such an agenda does not exist in Pakatan. Hasan’s seditious remarks have gone beyond reasonable doubt and sensible logic. He has only managed to embarrass the Malays with his wild allegations.
“He has dug his own political grave by reacting to rumours,” fired Rahmad.
Also present during the press conference were PMC secretary Mohd Noor Kadir and its treasurer Mohd Faisal Kader.
