‘Pakatan is like the Pied Piper’

(NST) KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party president Datuk Seri William Mawan Ikom has likened the opposition alliance Pakatan Rakyat to an old German folk tale, The Pied Piper of Hamelin, who used his magical flute to entice the children into a river.

"The opposition is actually the Pied Piper, the one who played the flute to entice or lure the people to their demise.

"The people, if they are not careful, will be enticed or lured by the opposition into the ravine and then the sea to drown," he said at the launch of the party's Muara Tuang branch here on Saturday night.

Mawan, who is also the social development and urbanisation minister, said that was the fate waiting to happen to the people if they chose to listen to the "nice and sweet music" of the opposition.
