Ean Yong to ask police probe ‘Teoh’ blog

Unlike his fellow Selangor DAP state executive councillor Ronnie Liu, Seri Kembangan lawmaker Ean Yong Hian Wah will not let a newly set up blog off the hook for accusing the party’s state leaders of stealing government money.

Liu who had been named by the the anonymous blog “Justice 4 Teoh Beng Hock” as one of the state DAP leaders who had been slowly draining state money, yesterday dismissed as “pure bull” the claims and told reporters he would not even bother making a police report because he had “lost faith in the MACC and the police”.

But Ean Yong, whose political secretary Teoh Beng Hock had been found dead at the national anti-graft’s office last week and had also been listed as being involved, told reporters here today he will file a report with the police tomorrow at its Shah Alam state headquarters.

“I want the police to investigate because the statements in the blog are meant to confuse readers,” the first-term state assemblyman said.

He explained that the statements were made up of “half truths and half lies”, and implied that certain sections may be taking advantage of the situation to undermine the Pakatan Rakyat government in Selangor in targeting the mainly Chinese DAP.

While the DAP assemblymen have made available their constituencies spending online, there were only certain details which are available to the authorities.

Ean Yong noted that the anonymous blog contained those details, which could only happen if they were leaked.
