Perak MB Dismisses Talk Of Two Reps Returning To PKR

(Bernama) — Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir on Wednesday dismissed talk that independent assemblymen Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Capt (Rtd) Osman Jailu were contemplating returning to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

"I hope the people will not be hoodwinked by the (political) game of certain quarters which try to portray that Perak is politically unstable," he told reporters after chairing the weekly meeting of the state executive council.

Dr Zambry said the state government had good relations with Jamaluddin (Behrang) and Osman (Changkat Jering) who had declared their support for the BN after becoming independent assemblymen.

He was asked to comment on recent talk that Jamaluddin and Osman were likely to return to PKR as they were dissatisfied with the BN for having failed to keep to its promises to the duo, for example appointing them as state executive councillors.

Dr Zambry also reiterated that Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin should give up the post of Football Association of Perak president if the former menteri besar was no longer capable of helming the association well.

Mohammad Nizar, who assumed the post in November last year, will remain as president until November 2010 unless he resigns voluntarily.
