Police want Wong’s remand extended

Political scientist Wong Chin Huat, who was arrested last night under the Sedition Act and remanded for a day this morning, may stay in police custody for a while longer.
This afternoon, police filed a second application to extend Wong's remand.
His lawyer Amer Hamzah Arshad told The Nut Graph the police are currently on their way to the court. He added that he would oppose the police's application to extend the remand order against the academician.
"The police can only apply to extend the remand for a maximum of three days for the second application," said Amer.
