Dr M: I’m free to give my opinion

Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad denied offering to lead the by-election campaign in Penanti.
The elder statesman also denied that he is the force behind the new premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Mahathir said he was only giving his personal opinion on matters. And although his opinion differed from Najib's, Mahathir said he is not opposing him.
"I'm free to give my opinion," Mahathir told reporters after giving the opening speech at MSC Malaysia's Leadership Talk Series this morning.
When asked, Mahathir also said he believes that the resumption of the Scenic bridge will be good for Johor.
"It will lessen the traffic jams from Singapore to Malaysia and help enhance the Iskandar Development Region."
