Guan Eng spokesman Rayer to RPK: Come back and prove your claims

(NST) – Jelutong member of parliament R.S.N. Rayer is awaiting for the return of blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) to prove the latter’s allegation against Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng over the controversial Penang Undersea Tunnel project.

The DAP lawmaker said if Raja Petra believed there was truth to his claim of corrupt practices, then he should return to Malaysia to reveal the truth.

“If there is no truth to his statement, then he should face the law, which will likely be taken against him,” he said today.

Rayer had issued a dare against Raja Petra to return to the country and repeat his allegation against Lim during the ongoing Parliament sitting.

Raja Petra, a political blogger, had then requested Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to allow him to return home to help the authorities investigate Lim’s alleged corruption involving the tunnel project.

He had also asked to be treated like a returning conquering hero, be given VVIP treatment and be invited to tea at Putrajaya – the treatments accorded to Clare Rewcastle Brown and Xavier Andre Justo when they were in Malaysia after the 14th General Election (GE14).

Rayer then accused Raja Petra of being insincere.

“We all know that he lost his credibility a long time ago. He used to side with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and attacked Datuk Seri Najib Razak in the past before he switched sides.

“So I feel we should not waste time discussing about Raja Petra. He is a nobody. As far as I am concerned, he is just a ‘loose cannon’,” he added, asking what was Raja Petra doing in London if he was concerned about Malaysia.

Rayer was met after lodging a police report against a video of an unidentified man in Negeri Sembilan, who had allegedly issued threats against Lim.

“I call on the Inspector-General of Police to take immediate action to arrest the man behind the video.

“We can clearly hear the threats he issued against Lim so action must be taken against him,” he added.

In the four-minute video clip that was spread via WhatsApp, the man had threatened violence against Lim if he goes to Rantau during the coming by-election.
