Clare Brown’s unhealthy obsession with PAS
Clare has lost focus and is off-tangent. She is panicking and is going all over the place. The MACC has told her and Ambiga Sreenevasan that, first of all, there is no evidence Najib gave PAS RM90 million and, secondly, there is no record showing RM90 million leaving 1MDB’s account. And this is why Clare is panicking.

In Sarawak Report’s latest piece, Clare Rewcastle Brown said, “It Is PAS Who Now Have To Prove Their Finances, Like All Political Parties Must….”
That is indeed a most interesting statement that has come out of Clare’s mouth thus far. But why only PAS and not the other two dozen or so political parties in Malaysia? Do the UK and US political parties also ‘prove their finances’?
Clare is what the Chinese would say tok-kok. If Clare wants to set new standards for political transparency, and only for Malaysia but not for the UK and US, then make this rule applicable to all political parties and not just to PAS. Why this ‘fatal attraction’ to PAS?
Clare alleges that in mid-2016 former prime minister Najib Tun Razak donated to or ‘bribed’ PAS and a number of its party leaders a total of RM90 million. But that is not the real issue or the crime here. The ‘crime’ is that the RM90 million was supposed to have come from 1MDB. That is what makes it a crime. The donation itself is not a crime.
Clare should first reveal how much Dr Mahathir paid her before she demands the same from PAS
I mean Robert Kuok, Ananda Krishnan, Francis Yeoh, Vincent Tan and dozens of other tycoons also donate money to parties on both sides of the political divide. In fact, Husam Musa, when he was still in PAS, received millions from gambling companies and casinos. Nothing wrong with that.
The thing that makes it ‘toxic’ is the RM90 million allegedly came from 1MDB. If not then no issue with Najib or anyone for that matter donating RM90 million to PAS…if that really did happen, that is.
As for the reason anyone donates to PAS (like I do) does not matter. It could be for perjuangan Islam. It could be so that you can have friends in the government in the event PAS happens to win the election. It could be you just like that bonnie lass in the tudung whose brother is contesting and you want to ‘win her heart’, never mind whether the brother wins the election or not.
The important thing is, the money that I donated to PAS was not stolen from the bank. The fact I donated to PAS and the reason why I donated does not matter one bit. Asal jangan duit curi.
Clare tried to save her neck by blaming Ambiga for the false information
So now the MACC needs to focus on, first, whether in 2016 Najib donated RM90 million to PAS, second, who received the money, and, third, was the RM90 million stolen from 1MDB.
Clare is trying to confuse the issue by publishing bank documents dated 2018 that allegedly was part of the RM90 million. Hello, sista, what has 2018 bank documents got to do with a 2016 donation? The timeline does not fit lah! Furthermore, does the person who committed the crime of giving you internal banking documents want to reveal himself or herself? If not, how would we know whether, yet again, you fabricated those documents like last time?
Then Clare is posting photographs of cars and motorcycles from pre-2016. If these PAS leaders allegedly received the money in mid-2016 and they bought cars and motorcycles in 2013, 2014 or 2015, how can that money have come from the RM90 million, or from 1MDB?
This is Clare’s ‘proof’ that Najib gave PAS RM90 million
Clare ni dah mengarut. Her timeline is all out. The money was supposed to have been paid in 2016. The documents are dated 2018. And the PAS leaders bought cars and bikes long before 2016. Cerita apa ni?
The issue here is 1MDB. Focus on that. Did the RM90 million come from 1MDB? Publish those documents. Don’t go and publish other documents not related to the RM90 million or photographs of cars and motorcycles. You need to prove that the RM90 million you allege PAS received or the purchase of the cars and motorcycles came from 1MDB.

Clare is actually very scared and frustrated. She knows she made a mistake and it is now coming back to haunt her. So, she is trying to claim the moral high ground and act as if she is on the same level as Mother Teresa.

Her statement of Defence and Counter-Claim aggravated that mistake. She tried to cover her sorry arse by shifting the blame to Ambiga. And that made things worse. She should have remembered that when you are stuck in a hole stop digging.
She had tried to take this matter into the court of public opinion and now she is being tried in that same court. The days when anything she says people will automatically swallow are gone. She is now facing a credibility problem and she knows it. She can no longer simply say anything and get away with it. People now want her to prove what she says.
She succeeded with the 1MDB issue because so many others such as AWSJ, etc., joined her in whacking Najib. In this RM90 million issue she is all on her own. That means all those others who jumped onto the 1MDB bandwagon in the past do not buy this RM90 million story. And that is what concerns her. She is a lone voice with no longer any chorus to back her up.
This RM90 million issue is going to sink her and Ambiga and she knows it. And, in her desperation, this is causing her to make so many mistakes. Money paid in 2016 but documents from 2018. Is this her new story?
