Amongst the Agong’s crimes are pardoning Anwar and contempt of court

In short, Anwar Ibrahim’s pardon was unconstitutional and the pardon should be withdrawn and Anwar should be sent back to jail. Furthermore, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong insulted the court by saying that Anwar is a victim of injustice, meaning the court that sent Anwar to jail was unjust. And that is contempt of court, which means the Yang di-Pertuan Agong should be arrested and charged for contempt of court.

Will Pahang be the next Yang di-Pertuan Agong?

Malaysia will be getting a new Yang di-Pertuan Agong in less than two weeks’ time and it may most likely be His Highness the Acting Sultan of Pahang, who is going to be installed onto the Pahang throne once his father abdicates due to ill health.

So those who were betting on whether His Highness the Sultan of Perak or His Majesty the Sultan of Johor was going to be appointed the next Yang di-Pertuan Agong are both going to lose their money.

Mahathir said the Rulers are not above the law and can be brought to book for their transgressions

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad already warned that the Rulers are not above the law and if they commit an offence or criminal act they can be brought to book. And this is good because then it means if anyone commits any crime against Their Highnesses or Their Majesties, these people, too, can be brought to book.

In short, if I (the Raja-Raja Melayu) commit any crime against society, you can punish me, and if anyone commits a crime against me, he or she, too, can be punished. Hence beware all those who think that criminal defamation or sedition against the Rulers is considered freedom of speech.

Rulers, too, have rights and protection under the law, just as the law can punish them for their transgressions.

Former Chief Justice Tun Abdul Hamid has pointed out the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s mistakes

The former Chief Justice, Tun Abdul Hamid Mohamad, pointed out in his opinion piece that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has made many mistakes, amongst them are unconstitutionally pardoning Anwar and contempt of court (READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE):

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong committed a number of transgressions, amongst them pardoning Anwar Ibrahim and criticising the court for sending Anwar to jail
