PH should have informed us of secretariat meeting, says Muda

Amir said the last time Muda met PH leaders was when they signed the memorandum of understanding on supporting the unity government in December.

(FMT) – Muda has lamented the lack of communication between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and the party, claiming it was not invited to the unity government’s secretariat meeting yesterday.

Muda secretary-general Amir Hariri Abd Hadi said there was no communication whatsoever on the meeting which was held at Umno’s headquarters last night.

The meeting was attended by leaders from PH, Barisan Nasional, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, Gabungan Parti Sarawak and Warisan.

“I’m not saying that I’m disappointed, but it would have been better if we were informed (about the meeting). If you don’t want to invite us, at least tell us that the meeting will be taking place and update us on its outcome.

“We only knew about what they discussed (after it was published) in the news,” he said when met at the Kuala Lumpur court complex here today.

Amir said the last time Muda met PH leaders was when they signed the memorandum of understanding on supporting the unity government in December.

He also claimed Muda had sent a letter to PH secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail seeking a meeting with its leadership to discuss what roles it could play in the coalition.

While the meeting was initially set for Jan 19, it was later called off the day before. “How can you treat your comrade like this?” said Amir.

He said Muda will continue to find ways to engage PH, particularly to discuss the six upcoming state elections, adding that the party will be contesting the elections “by hook or by crook”.

Amir, who was charged in August last year over a protest on the controversial littoral combat ship (LCS) project, was at the Kuala Lumpur magistrates’ court for case management.

Magistrate Nurul Izzah Shaharuddin set March 27 to hear his preliminary objection to the charge.

Muda and PH had signed an electoral pact for the 15th general election. The party’s sole MP is its president, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
