Why is Umno angry with Muhyiddin-Bersatu?

You cannot curse and condemn Umno for 56 years and suddenly declare you are now going to bed with Umno. No excuse in the world can wash all the nasty things you have said about Umno over 56 years. DAP will be rejected by the voters, as would Umno who will lose Malay support.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Based on what the Umno people are saying, there is not one reason but a few reasons why Umno is angry with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Parti Pribumi Bersatu or PPBM.

First is because the government is not dropping all the court cases against the Umno leaders and their family members. According to what they are saying, the court cases against the Umno people and their family members are a kezaliman (cruelty) perpetuated by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad — and since Mahathir is no longer the Prime Minister then the court cases should be dropped.

In other words, Muhyiddin should phone the Attorney-General and Chief Justice and ask them to withdraw all the charges against the Umno people and their family members or acquit them — or for those who have already been found guilty and have been sentenced, let them win their appeal.

The second reason is, Umno is being bullied by PPBM, says Umno. PPBM is holding all the key posts in the government, the post of Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister included. Umno feels they should be the ones holding all these key posts — or at least share some of the key posts with PPBM. For example, Umno should at least be given the DPM post if they cannot have the PM’s post.

The third reason is, if Umno remains in Perikatan Nasional, then Umno will need to share the 222 parliament seats with PPBM, PAS and many others in the next general election or GE15. If Umno goes solo, they can then contest, say, 120-130 seats and can most likely win at least 100 seats. Under Perikatan Nasional, Umno will probably be given only about 50 seats or so to contest, half of what Umno could win if they went solo.

But then, if Umno divorces from Perikatan Nasional (or from PPBM and PAS), who will they team up with? Can Umno go solo and engage in three-corner fights with Pakatan Harapan and Perikatan Nasional and still win 100 parliament seats or more — plus form the state governments in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Kedah and Perlis (except Penang, Selangor, Sabah and Sarawak)?

Or will Umno then enter into a new “Grand Coalition” with Pakatan Harapan to replace the coalition with Perikatan Nasional?

If Umno enters into a new Grand Coalition with Pakatan Harapan — meaning with PKR, DAP and Amanah — will they get better treatment than they are currently getting from PPBM? In other words, will PKR, DAP and Amanah allow Umno to become the “big brother” and call all the shots (including contest 120-130 parliament seats and the majority seats in all the states)?

Or will Umno be treated the same by PKR, DAP and Amanah as they are being treated by PPBM?

It is said that Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang have agreed to drop all the court cases against the Umno people and their family members. So that would be one issue solved.

However, the reason the voters were asked to reject Umno in GE14 is because the Umno people are said to be corrupt. Kit Siang says the Umno-led Barisan Nasional government was a kleptocrat government and Malaysia was a failed state under 60 years of Umno-BN rule.

So how is Kit Siang going to explain that DAP now wants to go to bed with Umno? Will the voters not feel cheated? Will this not just cause the voters to turn against DAP and Pakatan Harapan?
