Musa Aman demands RM1 billion from Yayasan Sabah trustees
(NST) – Former Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman has demanded RM1 billion from Yayasan Sabah trustees, including Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
Yayasan Sabah on Friday filed a claim at the High Court here against the Sungai Sibuga State Assembyman to recover RM872 million which was allegedly “lost” in a dubious logging activity agreement.
Its director Datuk Jamalul Kiram Zakaria said they made the application via e-filing on June 16.
Musa’s lawyer Tengku Fuad Tengku Ahmad, in a statement today, said a statement on the matter as well as publication of the Writ on Friday had caused damage and loss to Musa’s name and reputation.
“I’ve been instructed to issue Letters of Demand to Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, as chairman of Yayasan Sabah Board of Trustees, well as the individual Trustees of Yayasan Sabah, Datuk Jamalul Kiram and Datuk Douglas Lind.
“He demands that the Yayasan Sabah Board of Trustees within 24 hours of receiving his Demand to pay RM1 billion to a charity of our Tan Sri Musa’s choice, issue an apology, and retract the claim,” he said.
Tengku Fuad also said the apology and retraction letter must be published in all newspapers and online media sites.
Musa also demanded all parties to refrain from repeating the aforesaid impugned statement or such other words which connote or imply such meaning.
