We are still PH and Dr M has left, says Anwar
(FMT) – Pakatan Harapan will not be approaching Dr Mahathir Mohamad even though he has been named PPBM chairman, says PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar said this after he left a PH Presidential Council meeting at a hotel here.
Earlier today, it was reported that Mahathir had accepted the PPBM chairman’s post after resigning on Monday.
He had resigned as chairman after party president Muhyiddin Yassin announced the party’s exit from PH. The party’s Supreme Council, however, had rejected Mahathir’s resignation.
After leaving the hotel today, Anwar was asked if PH would approach Mahathir again.
“No, that does not arise.
“We are still PH and Tun has left PH.”
On Mahathir becoming PPBM chairman again, Anwar said it was the interim prime minister’s decision.
Yesterday, PH named Anwar as their candidate for prime minister after Mahathir declined their request to rehabilitate the PH-led government.
