Mahathir’s job is to oust Najib and then leave

President Trump unites Americans and gets them to support him by making them hate China, Iran, etc. Hitler achieved the same thing by making Germans hate the Jews. And Mahathir applies exactly the same tactics, as does DAP. Hate! Hate! Hate! That is the name of the game.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

In the 1986 general election, DAP won 24 parliament seats against 17 for MCA, 6 for MIC, 5 for Gerakan and zero for PPP. Total was 52 seats.

In the 1990 general election, DAP won 20 parliament seats against 18 for MCA, 6 for MIC, 5 for Gerakan and zero for PPP. Total was 49 seats.

In the 1999 general election, DAP won 10 parliament seats against 29 for MCA, 7 for MIC, 6 for Gerakan and zero for PPP. Total was 52 seats.

In the 2004 general election, DAP won 12 parliament seats against 31 for MCA, 9 for MIC, 10 for Gerakan and 1 for PPP. Total was 63 seats.

In the 2008 general election, DAP won 28 parliament seats against 15 for MCA, 3 for MIC, 2 for Gerakan and zero for PPP. Total was 48 seats.

In the 2018 general election, DAP won 42 parliament seats against 1 for MCA, 2 for MIC and zero for Gerakan and PPP. Total was 45 seats.

DAP uses hate to get the support of the non-Malays

From that track record, you can see that between 50 to 60 non-Malay seats are up from grabs. The rest are Malay and Bumiputera/native seats from both West and East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak combined have 57 parliament seats, Labuan included).

And what is more important to note is that in the non-Malay seats it is a zero-sum game. If you win, I lose, and vice versa. It is like playing on the see-saw. One has to go down for the other to go up. So, if DAP wins then MCA-MIC-Gerakan-PPP lose.

Monkey see, monkey do

DAP contests in the non-Malay seats against other non-Malay parties. It does not contest in Malay seats. Any seat with less than 50% non-Malay voters means DAP would get slaughtered. Even a seat with 50:50 Malay versus non-Malay voters would be a problem for DAP. A seat with 70% non-Malay voters is so safe that DAP can field a monkey and still win.

That is the reality of Malaysian politics. It is all about race, religion and parochialism.

If you field a Hokkien candidate in a Hakka area, even if he or she is still Chinese, the candidate will lose. If you field an “anak Kemaman” in Besut, even though he or she is still “anak Terengganu”, the candidate would lose. So, being Malay, Muslim and Terengganu born is not enough. Which daerah you come from is also important.

Superman Hew revealed that hate is a very powerful weapon which DAP uses to unite the non-Malays behind them

If you want to win, all you need to do is say, “dia bukan anak Terengganu” or “dia bukan orang Sabah.”

DAP has perfected the art of race and religion politics. If DAP is seen as the champion of Chinese schools and Chinese education and the opposer of Jawi, Islamic Sharia laws, RUU355, Hudud, Malay privileges, the New Economic Policy, Article 153 in the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, etc., they would score points with the non-Malay voters.

They also need to paint the picture that Umno is evil, Umno is a racist party, Umno is corrupt and steals the rakyat’s money, Umno is a party that is a threat to Chinese interests, and that the non-Malay parties in Barisan Nasional are running dogs of Umno.

Mahathir is only supposed to bring down Umno and Barisan Nasional after which he is supposed to leave

To justify working with Malay parties such as Amanah and PPBM, DAP tells the non-Malays that Amanah is DAP’s running dog meant to counter and check PAS and that it represents a liberal version of Islam. DAP also tells the non-Malays that they are using PPBM and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to bring down Umno and Barisan Nasional and once that is achieved they will get rid of Mahathir, if he is not already dead within two years.

In short, DAP wins the hearts and minds of the non-Malay voters by propagating hate. Hate is a very powerful weapon that has worked for hundreds of years to get the masses behind you and to get them to support your cause.

In fact, Mahathir uses the same strategy. In those days he got the Malays to support him by making them hate DAP, Dong Zong, etc. In the recent general election, he got the Malays to support him by making them hate Najib Tun Razak, Rosmah Mansor and Umno. And he used 1MDB, Rosmah’s shopping, and so on, to build up this hate.

So, at the end of the day, it is all about hate. If you can make the people hate then they will support you. In the Middle East it is also about hate. You hate Israel, you hate the Jews, you hate the Shia, you hate the Kurds, you hate America, whatever it may be. As long as you can make them hate, they will rally behind you.

President Trump unites Americans and gets them to support him by making them hate China, Iran, etc. Hitler achieved the same thing by making Germans hate the Jews. And Mahathir applies exactly the same tactics, as does DAP. Hate! Hate! Hate! That is the name of the game.
