Pakatan government to put more items under price control to keep costs down

(The Star) – The government is refining the additional list of controlled items in an effort to lighten the cost of living of the people, says Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (pic).

‘’The goods have already been identified,” he said without revealing the number and types of items.

Sugar, flour, 1kg cooking oil, cooking gas, petrol and diesel were among the items already listed in the controlled prices category at the moment.

Discussions with stakeholders such as the Agriculture and Agro-Based Ministry, Veterinary Services Department and vegetable wholesalers were being conducted to ensure supplies were not affected, he told reporters after his ministry’s monthly gathering here Thursday (April 25).
