Ku Nan arrested by MACC, to be charged over dubious land deals

(The Star) – Former Federal Territories minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The Umno politician was held when he arrived at the MACC headquarters at 3.15pm on Wednesday (Nov 14).

The Putrajaya MP is to be charged over dubious land deals involving Kuala Lumpur City Hall on Thursday (Nov 15).

A special task force was set up to probe the 97 transactions worth RM5.63bil, involving 273.27ha of DBKL land.

Earlier today, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor spent close to four hours giving her statement to graft investigators over the RM1.25bil solar hybrid project for schools in Sarawak.

The hybrid solar project courted controversy when whistleblower site Sarawak Report alleged that the contract was awarded to Bintulu-based company Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd.

The company is a transportation services company.

Jepak Holdings was appointed at the end of 2016 for the supply of diesel, repair of generators, and to provide solar hybrid systems for 369 rural schools in Sarawak.

On Oct 4, Rosmah was charged with 17 counts of money laundering amounting to RM14mil at the Sessions Court, over the transfer of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) funds into her bank account.
