Kit Siang wants to nail Najib for the Altantuya murder

According to one previous Director of the Special Branch, the police had already investigated Najib and Rosmah a decade ago and there is no evidence to link them to the murder or to prove they were involved in or were behind the murder. In fact, Rosmah has an alibi and there is evidence to prove she was somewhere else at the time of the murder.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Over the last week, Lim Kit Siang has been harping on what he calls the five ‘high-profile’ deaths or murders, which he wants reopened or reinvestigated.

These high-profile deaths or murders involve AmBank founder Hussain Najadi, DPP Kevin Anthony Morais, Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu, DAP political aide Teoh Beng Hock, and Customs Department officer Ahmad Sarbani Mohamed.

This is actually a smoke-screen. What Kit Siang really wants is for only one of those murder cases to be reopened or reinvestigated. And this is the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Kit Siang wants Najib and Rosmah nailed for covering up Altantuya’s murder

Nailing Najib Tun Razak for stealing RM42 billion of 1MDB’s money is not so easy after all. That is why they are trying to nail him for money-laundering and/or tax evasion (meaning non-declaration of wealth or assets).

But that is not good enough. Money-laundering and/or tax evasion is a common ‘crime’ committed by everyone.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, all of Mahathir’s children, Tun Daim Zainuddin, Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng, Robert Kuok, Vincent Tan, Francis Yeoh, Ananda Krishnan, and thousands of other wealthy and/or powerful Malaysians are guilty of money-laundering and/or tax evasion.

They need to nail Najib, and at the same time nail Rosmah Mansor as well, for something more ‘solid’. And that is why Kit Siang wants the Altantuya murder case reopened and reinvestigated. If they can nail Najib and Rosmah for involvement in Altantuya’s murder, then Malaysians will forgive Pakatan Harapan for not sending Najib to jail for stealing RM42 billion.

Pakatan Harapan cannot nail Najib and Rosmah for stealing RM42 billion after all

Hence, linking Najib and/or Rosmah to the murder is impossible and if that could be done it would already have been done back in 2008.

Furthermore, if in 2008 there was evidence that Najib and/or Rosmah was involved in the murder, why did Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad back Najib to become Prime Minister in 2009?

The police investigated Najib and Rosmah and reported to Mahathir they are both clean and are not involved in the murder. That was why Mahathir backed Najib to become Prime Minister in 2009.

So, they need to use a new or different angle to nail Najib and/or Rosmah for Altantuya’s murder. And this is going to be like how they nailed President Richard Nixon.

They want to nail Najib the same way President Nixon was nailed

Nixon was not involved in the Watergate crime. He never planned it or ordered it. But he became aware of it AFTER the crime had been committed and tried to cover it up. That was how and why Nixon fell.

Kit Siang’s angle is, while Najib and Rosmah may not have been involved in plotting the murder or ordered Altantuya murdered, they came to know about it AFTER the murder had been committed and tried to cover it up.

The police have advised Pakatan Harapan that this new approach may be possible to prove. But they will need witnesses or conspirators to testify that Najib and Rosmah became aware of the crime after the fact and that they had ordered or were involved in the cover-up.

A certain Pakatan Harapan leader has already met a few potential witnesses and deals are being struck. Two of those ‘witnesses’ are Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azhar Umar and they have been asked to become ‘state witnesses’ in exchange for their death sentences being commuted.

Deepak will testify regarding his involvement in bribing P.I. Balasubramaniam

Police officer Suresh and Deepak Jaikishan are another two potential witnesses. They would testify regarding their involvement in getting P.I. Balasubramaniam to leave the country. If Azilah, Sirul, Suresh and Deepak can testify and say that Najib and Rosmah knew about the murder after it happened and that they were involved in or ordered the cover-up, then it will be game over for the ex-Prime Minister and his First Lady.

So that is what Pakatan Harapan is working on. And Kit Siang’s job is to throw the cat amongst the pigeons and create all this brouhaha about reopening or reinvestigating the five high-profile murders. Then they will work on the Altantuya case and nail Najib and/or Rosmah like they did President Nixon.

So, expect Azilah, Sirul, Suresh and Deepak to be in the news again as ‘state witnesses’. They will testify that while Najib and Rosmah were not behind the murder, they were behind the cover-up of the murder. That will be good enough to ‘replace’ the charge of the theft of RM42 billion of 1MDB’s money that may not materialise in the end after all.
