Anwar will tell Erdogan how Turkey should be run

Yes, in short, Anwar is a chameleon. He can speak to hardline Muslims in Iran and say one thing and then speak to the Jews in the United States the same day and say the opposite. And that is why when asked whether he supports the RUU355 and/or Islamic laws of Hudud, Anwar replied, as a Muslim of course he does but as a leader in Pakatan Harapan he feels we need time to first of all educate non-Muslims regarding Hudud and then after they can accept Hudud do we implement it.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

This was what The Australian reported:

Southeast Asia expert Bridget Welsh says Anwar’s praise for Erdogan could at best be seen as poor judgment and at worst a worrying portent for Malaysia under his future leadership. “He should have shown much more prudence before making this visit and even greater prudence before making those remarks,” she said.

“He has raised serious questions in the international community about the future of his leadership and whether or not he is actually a democrat. I think it’s deeply troubling and sends worrying signals for those concerned about reform in Malaysia.”

Asked if he believed such criticism was valid, Anwar said he remained “consistent in my views against any excesses and would encourage (Mr Erdogan) to respect the rule of law”. “My commitment is for democratic accountability,” he said. (READ MORE HERE)

Anwar will tell Erdogan how Turkey should be run but will leave it to Mahathir on how to run Malaysia

First of all, Anwar is giving the impression that he respects ‘the rule of law’ and that he has the power to ‘encourage’ Erdogan to ‘respect the rule of law’.

Why would Erdogan listen to Anwar and what makes Anwar think he has right to tell the Turkish leader how he should run Turkey? Will Anwar agree for Erdogan to tell Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad how Malaysia should be run? Or can the Singapore Prime Minister tell Mahathir how he should run Malaysia?

Anwar is trying to give an impression he is a world leader, and hence far better than Mahathir who other than just Japan no other country thinks much of him. No doubt countries like Indonesia will roll out the red carpet when Mahathir goes visiting. But they are doing that just as a mark of respect to Mahathir for his status as Malaysia’s Prime Minister and it is not personal to holder. Even Idi Aman and Mugabe received red-carpet treatment when they were leaders of their country.

Even Mugabe got red-carpet treatment, just like Mahathir

Anwar still wants to play the game of one-upmanship with Mahathir. That is why he is flying, as Dr Wan Azizah Ismail said, to London and Turkey to meet so many people. He wants to show Malaysians he can do what Mahathir cannot. Mahathir is just a Malaysian leader. Anwar is a global leader. And this has not gone unnoticed to Mahathir’s people.

Anwar’s last sentence is really Anwar-vintage — “My commitment is for democratic accountability.” What the hell does that mean? Binatang apa tu? DEMOCRATIC ACCOUNTABILITY! Anwar should explain what ‘democratic accountability’ means because this is a new invention which even Oxford does not teach in its political philosophy course. It is like saying a giraffe without a neck, which means it is not a giraffe then.

The truth is Anwar just tembak. He is good at coming out with meaningless words just to impress people that he knows what he is doing. He is hoping the more complicated his words are the more impressive he will look.

Anwar will tell the Jews in the US one thing and Muslims in Iran the opposite

Bridget Welsh summed it up well when she said, “I think Anwar is blinded by personal loyalties and is focused on himself and not the bigger challenges the country faces.” Clive Kessler, in turn, said, “There are about four or five Anwars running around in his head. He means well to everybody but he doesn’t know how to choose between contradictory positions. He can talk to any audience and people go away delighted, thinking ‘he thinks like us’.”

The truth is non-Muslims will never accept Hudud in 1,000 years so this means in principle Anwar accepts Hudud, but in principle only, because Hudud will never be implemented since non-Muslims will never agree to it.

Will the real Anwar please stand up!
