Nik Nazmi slams unfair treatment of opposition states
He says it goes against Pakatan Harapan’s principles.
(FMT) – PKR Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has urged Minister of Rural and Regional Development Rina Harun to be fair to states under the opposition’s control.
This comes after Rina was reported as saying that the RM100 million allocated for villages throughout the country would only be distributed to states under Pakatan Harapan for now.
In a post on Twitter, Nik Nazmi said such a decision went against Pakatan Harapan’s principles.
“We must be a government for all – people from Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional (BN), PAS, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and those who are not from or for any party,” he tweeted while attaching the media report quoting Rina.
The tweet received mixed reactions with some supporting Nik Nazmi’s statement while others pointed out that the government’s decision was only temporary.
In the report, Rina said the government was still searching for the right mechanism to distribute the funds in opposition-controlled states.
She said there were 16,000 villages in the country and each could request for a grant of as much as RM10,000.
