AGC drops bid to cite Guan Eng for contempt
(MMO) – The Attorney-General’s Chambers withdrew today its application to initiate contempt proceedings against Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng.
Senior federal counsel Maisarah Jauhari relayed the AGC’s intention to withdraw the appeal over the matter before a three-judge panel at the Court of Appeal here today.
No order was made with regards to costs.
The AGC previously attempted to cite Lim for contempt over remarks he made after he was charged with corruption over the purchase of a house while he was Penang chief minister.
The appeal was over the High Court’s rejection of the initial application.
