RM1 donated to Tabung Harapan for each Malindo Air ticket
(The Star) – For three months, Malindo Air will contribute RM1 on each ticket sold for Malaysian destinations to the Tabung Harapan Malaysia (THM) fund.
In a statement, its chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said that the airline wanted to play its part in strengthening the nation’s economic condition.
He added that this is as Malindo Air’s gift to the nation in conjunction with the first Merdeka Day under the leadership of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad after 15 years
“The Malindo family has strong faith that if we act together as one in aiding the new government, Malaysia will be back to its glorious days in no time.
The THM fund was set up after numerous Malaysians expressed a desire to donate to help the country reduce its national debt, which both Dr Mahathir and Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng had said was now more than RM1 trillion.
It was reported that within 24 hours, the fund has collected RM7mil.
The three-month long campaign by the airline will start on Friday (June 1) and run until August 31.
