Home Ministry: Pakatan registration held up due to issues over Pribumi AGM
(The Star) – Pakatan Harapan has yet to be registered as a coalition as the Registrar of Societies (RoS) is still investigating one of its component parties, said the Home Ministry.
In a written reply to Sim Tze Tzin (PKR – Bayan Baru) Thursday (May 8), the Ministry said the RoS was investigating multiple complaints received in relation to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Pribumi).
“The RoS has received the application for registration from Pakatan as well as reports pertaining to its component parties, DAP and Pribumi.
“It is still conducting investigations into multiple complaints it received about Pribumi to ensure the party’s annual general meeting on Dec 30, 2017, was conducted in line with the party constitution,” said the Ministry.
Sim had asked the Ministry to explain why the RoS had not approved Pakatan’s registration and its logo since all requirements involving DAP and Pribumi had already been fulfilled.
He also asked if there were additional criteria required to process Pakatan’s application.
