Pribumi: DAP is getting too many seat allocations

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia members of the Kota Baru division allege that their party has given way to the DAP over seat negotiations for the coming general election.

Kota Baru Pribumi vice-chief Mohd Nor Hashim Che Min blamed the party’s top leaders for not being firm with Pakatan Harapan parties, in particular DAP.

“DAP has been domineering, and we are bowing to them. We can’t accept that,” he told a press conference here yesterday.

Present were Kota Baru Pribumi Youth chief Nik Mohd Adhwan Nik Haris and division Srikandi (women’s wing) chief Normala Abdul Kadir.

Mohd Nor also hit out at Parti Amanah Negara for trying to monopolise seat allocations in Kelantan.

“Amanah wants to contest in most of the state seats and it has shown disregard for the other parties,” he said.

Mohd Nor said Amanah wanted to take all the three state seats in Kota Baru.

“We see no resolution despite months of negotiations,” he said, adding that the feeling of being sidelined had caused friction among Pribumi grassroots members.

Mohd Nor hit out at Pribumi chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for allegedly putting his own interests above the party and the rakyat.

He also expressed his frustration against the party for holding an invalid annual general meeting last year.

It was reported last week that two Pribumi leaders from Klang had lodged a complaint with the Registrar of Societies, claiming that their party breached its constitution when it held its AGM.
