Pakatan mulls suing RoS over registration delay
(MO) – Pakatan Harapan will give the Registrar of Societies an ultimatum tomorrow over its delay for not recognising the coalition formally.
According to Malay Mail Online, PH claimed RoS was intentially delaying PH’s attempt to be legalised, adding that it may take legal action against the agency.
During a press conference at the DAP headquarters here, PH legal bureau chief Gobind Singh Deo said the pact would submit an ultimatum to the RoS by tomorrow.
The English news portal reported that earlier, DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke revealed a letter from the RoS endorsing the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC).
Loke said the DAP re-election had been one of the reasons RoS gave for not proceeding with the PH application.
“They must urgently respond to our request. This is not we want to do but we expect the RoS to behave in a professional manner,” he said.
Loke accused the agency of lacking professionalism by allegedly not responding to formal communication, and said the pact will consider all options including going to court.
