Mahathir claims internal efforts to sabotage PH’s registration
(MO) – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad claims there are efforts from within the party to sabotage the registration of the Pakatan Harapan coalition.
The former prime minister revealed that there had been numerous reports to the Registrar of Societies (Ros) lodged by Pribumi members claiming that its Annual General Assembly (AGM) was not legitimate.
This, he said could affect their application to register Pakatan as a coalition and it risked being rejected by the ROS.
“We are baffled how 400 different people can lodge the same report, using the same words, to the RoS.
“So there seems to be a concerted effort, by certain quarters to force the RoS to reject Pakatan’s application,” he was quoted as telling the press at Pakatan’s weekly press conference here today.
Pribumi, part of the Pakatan Opposition coalition that includes DAP, PKR and Parti Amanah Negara, held its annual general assembly last December.
Dr Mahathir has been named Prime Minister elect by PH should it win the next general election and take over Putrajaya.
