Pakatan Harapan is ‘Pakatan Wayang’, says Salleh

(Bernama) – Pakatan Harapan as a legal entity does not exist  but what does exist is merely an alliance between Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and four opposition parties, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.

Some of the opposition leaders, he said, however, were Members of Parliament whilst Dr Mahathir was  not.

“The current opposition are the very same people who wanted to remove Dr Mahathir when he was Prime Minister for 22 years. Now they are saying that they want Dr Mahathir to be back in power. Do they think people would believe they are not strange bedfellows?

“The common perception is that Dr Mahathir wants to use the opposition to put his son Mukhriz back on the political track whilst the DAP-led opposition wants Dr Mahathir to deliver the Malay votes. Even (Dr Mahathir’s son) Mukhriz admitted that it is normal to aspire to become the Prime Minister,” he said in his latest posting on his blog  today.

“So there is really no Pakatan Harapan per se. It is more of a “Pakatan Wayang” (drama)  to deceive the people about their true intentions,” he added.
