Sabah DAP suspends Kapayan rep
(MMO) – Sabah DAP deputy chairman Dr Edwin Bosi has been suspended from the party for three months, allegedly for making statements damaging to the party’s image.
Sabah DAP secretary Chan Foong Hin said Bosi’s suspension from official duty effective yesterday, however did not affect his position as state deputy chairman and Kapayan assemblyman.
In a letter from the party’s disciplinary committee secretary Tai Sin Piau, the party said that the decision followed a complaint by the Sabah state committee that Dr Bosi had made public statements threatening to quit DAP, join another party or contest as an independent candidate in the event that he would not be retained as a candidate in the 14th general election.
The letter also stated that Dr Bosi had made repeated public statements and comments that he had no trust in the state party chairman Stephen Wong, accusing the latter of having poor leadership.
“It is evident that you have failed to conduct yourself in a manner befitting of a responsible member, leader and elected representative of the party. You have failed to place the interest of the party above your own and did not utilize internal channels to raise your grouses.
“Your actions have not only undermined the Sabah DAP leadership but have also tarnished the party’s reputation and exposed it to unfair criticism,” it said.
