(Malay Mail Online) – Muslims in Malaysia must unite against the DAP and foil the secular party’s purported plan to rule the country, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has said.

Utusan Malaysia quoted him as saying that the predominantly Chinese DAP has no right to form the ruling government as Muslims outnumber the Chinese in Malaysia.

“The DAP has bigger plans, more than just controlling the economy, therefore it is only through the unification of the Muslim community can we ensure that this country continues to be ruled by Malays,” Hadi reportedly said at a ceramah last night.

“We have also reminded Umno to return to Islam for the unity and strengthening of the ummah,” the Marang MP added.

Also present at the event was former Selangor mentri besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

“I see DAP made up of Chinese people have succeeded even though they are only 30 per cent (of the country’s population), even more so now that they have controlled a higher income per capita and I believe they have much larger ambitions.

“We will form a unit like an NGO to monitor Muslims (election candidates) who align themselves with DAP and make sure they do not win in the next general election,” the Bandar Tun Razak MP added.

Khalid was previously from PKR but was sacked from the party and removed as Selangor MB ostensibly over issues concerning his administration of the state.

PAS parted ways with DAP and PKR last year from the now-defunct Pakatan Rakyat after a fallout over its hudud ambition. It has since flirted with the idea of a political co-operation with arch-rival Umno in a move seemingly aimed at consolidating conservative Malay political power.
