PAS members banned from attending Amanah and DAP functions
(The Star) – PAS members are now “strictly prohibited” from attending any Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) or DAP functions, said PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan (pic).
Members will require prior permission from the party’s central working committee to attend a programme hosted by any other political party.
According to Takiyuddin’s circular to party members on Sunday, the Central Working Committee made the decision during a meeting on Friday to “maintain the unity of the party and to avoid a breach of the party constitution and instructions.”
The statement ordered for the directive to be delivered to all levels of the party.
“PAS members are prohibited to participate, engage, collaborate, assist or participate in any Amanah or DAP programme at all levels,” read the circular.
“PAS members must receive permission from the central working committee before attending any programme or political activity hosted by any other political party which they have received an invitation to,” he said.
The one exception to the permission is any event hosted by DAP and Amanah which is “strictly prohibited” (dilarang terus).”
Party members were also reminded not to go against anything in contravention to the party constitution, in particular Clauses 16 and 82, which covers the discipline and rights of members.
