Ku Nan: Muhyiddin arrogant for sitting during applause for Najib

(Malay Mail Onkine) – Delegates had risen to their feet when applauding the Umno president’s closing speech, but Muhyiddin remained in his seat, prompting heckles and stares from some party leaders.

Muhyiddin eventually stood.

“That is the problem, arrogance. What are we going to do?” he told reporters when met outside Dewan Merdeka at the Putra World Trade Centre here.

Tengku Adnan, popularly called Ku Nan, added that Najib was willing to forgive Muhyiddin for his attacks, but it was up to the Pagoh MP to accept it.

When asked if Muhyiddin and vice president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal will be punished by the party over criticism against Najib, he said to “wait and see”.

Separately, Umno supreme council member Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman suggested that Muhyiddin’s sustained criticism had made it difficult for the deputy president to stand and applaud Najib.

“Maybe he felt awkward after bashing so much, how la,” he said while laughing when met outside PWTC today.

“Najib has already given the olive branch by giving his hand of friendship today. It is up to him (Muhyiddin) if he wants to respond or not,” Tajuddin said.

Muhyiddin earlier appeared to reject the offered truce, and said Najib would be better off resolving the issues raised against him than seeking to forgive his deputy for attacking him.
