Fadzil Noor’s son excoriates PAS heads over gag on ‘divorce’ with DAP
(MMO) – Several PAS delegates tore into the party’s central working committee today for approving the motion to sever ties with DAP without debate.
The delegates were irate that they were not given a chance to debate the contentious issue, and that the decision was left to the few in the party’s leadership.
“Why does this sensitive issue not need to be debated? When this involves PAS’ direction? We are leaders representing those at the division. How will we answer to our members?” asked Muhammad Faiz Fadzil, the son of former president and opposition leader Datuk Fadzil Mohd Noor.
Faiz, who is a Rembau delegate, asked Datuk Mahfuz Omar to explain his decision as chairman of the motion selection committee, causing a commotion from those who agreed with him.
“Don’t try to get divorced, but still want to sleep in the same home. We don’t want to be friends with DAP but we want to be with Pakatan Rakyat (PR). This is a crippled Pakatan,” slammed Faiz.
“If we are courageous and strict, let the delegates debate what the muktamar wants, only then can the PAS central committee implement it.”
