(Bernama) – The Selangor government plans to increase the allocation for development by almost 50 per cent in the state’s Budget 2015, which will be tabled at the state assembly sitting next month.

Mentri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said the increase was significant in the effort to generate economic growth and to reduce operational costs and the state government’s administration expenditure.

“We will introduce an economic and development policy that is fairer and comprehensive, whereby administration costs will be lowered and development expenditure increased by almost 50 per cent.

“This will be discussed at the next state assembly sitting…in principal, we have agreed that the salary hikes for the MB (menteri besar), speaker and deputy speaker must also be reviewed,” he told reporters, here, today.

He was met after attending a morning assembly for state government departments at Dewan Sri Jugra in Banting, here.
