Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) personnel with the help of the police raided the house of the sex bloggers who have posted an offending picture on Facebook after nine hours of interrogation last night.

Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee were summoned to MCMC’s office at 10.49am yesterday to have their statement recorded in relation to a Facebook posting of Ramadan greeting image of them having pork dish Bah Kut Teh (herbal pork soup).

The posting caused an uproar among netizens for insulting the Muslims during Ramadan. The couple has since issued an apology on Youtube.

A source told FMT that the MCMC officers went to the couple’s rented house in Jalan Ipoh at 10.30pm last night and confiscated two laptops and a modem.

When contacted, Tan said his two digital cameras were also seized.

“The MCMC brought about 20 policemen just to take our stuff away. One laptop is new and had nothing to do with the case,” he said.

Tan said the MCMC asked 250 questions but he refused to describe the treatment during the interrogation.

“I am not going to comment on that but we have a lot to say about how we were treated. We have to engage a lawyer first,” he said.

When contacted, MCMC Strategic Communication chief Sheikh Raffie Abdul Rahman said the matter was still under investigation and refused to comment on why the duo had to be questioned for nine hours.

“I am sorry I cannot answer your question. It will jeopardise our investigation. We are now investigating the matter,” he said.
