Former ACA Director urged to lodge police report
(Bernama) – Three MPs today urged former Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) director Datuk Abdul Razak Idris (pic) to lodge a police report without delay on his allegation that he was instructed to make a statutory declaration (SD) to clear Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when the latter was deputy prime minister of having stashed away some RM3 billion in foreign accounts.
Speaking to reporters at Parliament’s lobby here today, Wee Choo Keong (Ind-Wangsa Maju) in making the call, said Anwar’s alleged action of forcing Abdul Razak to make the SD was a serious matter.
He added that the authorities should act urgently on the matter.
Local English daily the New Straits Times today front-paged a report quoting Abdul Razak as saying that Anwar, who was being investigated on the matter by the ACA (now the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) then, had instructed him to do so.
Wee’s calls were echoed by Datuk Seri Zahrin Mohamed Hashim (Ind-Bayan Baru) and Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir (BN-Jerlun). Anwar is currently the Opposition leader and de facto head of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
