PAS claims Terengganu ‘gifted’ land to five local Umno reps
(TMI) – PAS has revealed the names of five Terengganu Umno leaders it claims received land from the Barisan Nasional (BN) state government including former Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.
The Islamist party’s state chief Abdul Wahid Endut had last week said it had a list of leaders from its rival who were “gifted” land by the state.
“Today, I expose five names first. We don’t want to reveal all. We will do a few at a time to see their (Umno) reaction.
“Then we will bring this to the state assembly from April 23 to 26,” the Kuala Terengganu MP was quoted as saying by party organ Harakah yesterday.
Abdul Wahid alleged that all five — Idris, Besut MP Datuk Seri Abdullah Muhammad Zin, Hulu Besut assemblyman Nawi Mohamad, state executive councillor Karzan Che Mat and Kota Putera assemblyman Muhammad PEhimi Yusoh — received one hectare each.
He said that as 20 housing lots could be carved out of each hectare of land, “the rights of 20 citizens were denied by each BN elected representative”.
