Najib: Opposition can’t emulate BN’s record

It is impossible for the Opposition to take over Barisan Nasional’s role in leading the country, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said the idea of the Opposition emulating Barisan’s success was implausible when they did not even have a common ideology.

“Their political beliefs clash with one another, showing their partnership to be a loose one,” Najib said at a Deepavali lunch gathering hosted by Pekan MIC division here yesterday.

Najib said Barisan had a proven track record of holding true to its promises, as compared to opposition parties which were only good at making empty promises.

“From the days of the Alliance until the Barisan leadership, we have proven that we keep to our promises.

“Barisan brought the nation independence and we will be the one to steer the nation to be a highly-developed one,” he said.

“The world has seen leaders who only knew how to make promises bring calamity to their people.

“Therefore, the people should not take any risk that may make them regret later,” said Najib.

He also gave the assurance that his administration would continue to lead the country and be fair to everyone.

“We cannot afford to forsake our future.

“If Barisan cannot win, no others can win,” said Najib.
