Several Pas leaders, including its Selangor commissioner, Datuk Dr Hasan Ali, will be hauled up before the party’s disciplinary committee. This was determined at a meeting of the committee headed by Pas vice-president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man at an undisclosed location yesterday.
The committee met to discuss statements by Pas spiritual leader Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat on his blog and in the media.
It is understood that the committee also went through several documents it obtained from various sources and recordings of conversations between certain Pas leaders and some bloggers.
When contacted yesterday, Tuan Ibrahim confirmed that the five-member committee met yesterday for three hours beginning 10.30am.
“The committee scrutinised several documents which we obtained and have identified those who should be called to explain themselves.
“We will send letters to them as soon as possible and they will have to answer within 14 days. That is all I can say for now.”
Tuan Ibrahim said the committee would make its recommendations only after the Pas leaders had given their explanations.
“We are giving them a chance to answer the various allegations against them,” he said.
Nik Aziz, who is also Kelantan menteri besar, had said in his blog, www.blogtokguru.com, that he wanted several leaders out of the party for supporting a suggestion to have a unity government with Umno.
Among those he named were Dr Hasan, Pas deputy president Nasharuddin Mat Isa and secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali.
Selangor Pas information chief Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir said none of the state leaders had received any letter from the disciplinary committee, as of yesterday.
