Najib: Serving rakyat gives me greatest satisfaction

(Bernama) Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said serving the rakyat (people)and making things better for them gave him the greatest satisfaction as a politician.

He said he also found great satisfaction when the small things he did became big things for those who received them.

“I always ask myself why I've chosen politics as my career and the answer is I try to look for some degree of personal satisfaction.

“And the greatest of satisfaction that I get as a politician, is the small things that I do, but they are big things for those who receive the things that I can do for them," he said when launching Yayasan Sime Darby, here yesterday.

Najib said the establishment of the foundation represented a commitment towards the environment in which Sime Darby operated.

“It is a realisation that corporate citizenship is no less onerous a responsibility than that of individual citizenship,” he said. He said the corporate sector should go as far as they could when it came to responsibility, which also applied to individuals and leaders.

“And of all of us play our part and not only leave it to the government, and I think we can make a difference. We should all, all of us go as far as we can to take our place in society and work towards bettering society,” he added.
