Fahmi interviews his MUM about arrests and the Child Act!

By Mark Teh (Fairly Current Show)

The recent anti-ISA rally on 1st August 2009 saw tens of thousands of Malaysians take to the streets of KL to express their disagreement with that law. It also saw the largest number of arrests – some 600 people, children included. Questions about how arrested children are handled and the ethics of child participation in such rallies came to fore.

This week we speak with Datin Fauziah Ramly – one of the people who helped formulate the Child Act 2001 – about her thoughts on the rights of arrested children, being a mother, and also a Malaysian in these troubled times.
