Issue of conflict of interest sidestepped
(NST) KUALA LUMPUR: Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat sidestepped the issue of conflict of interest involving Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing in the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) controversy.
"From the records that I have, he did not hold any posts on the PKA (Port Klang Authority) board or in PKFZ Sdn Bhd when the land transaction and development took place," he told Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Ipoh Timur) during Question Time yesterday.
Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd is the company that sold the land to PKA for the project. It is also the main turnkey contractor for PKFZ.
Lim had repeatedly called for Tiong, who is the MP for Bintulu, to clear the air over his company's involvement in the project.
