As I write this, almost 100 comments have been posted in response to my article titled ‘The four-letter word called SEX’. I have picked up just four of these comments to reply to. I hope this will trigger some debate as I feel we need more discourse on what ails Malaysia. I have not edited or amended any of these comments and have published them as is.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

1. It’s wicked for RPK to say “The Malay mind can be summarised in just three words - sex, sex, sex!” There’s got to be something in between having sex.

The greedy Chinese have in their mind three letters “KTM” - Kuda, Toto and Magnum before the next orgy. The pious Malays remain pure with Konkek, Tidur and Makan. -- 1Beruk

1Beruk, you said, “the pious Malays remain pure with Konkek, Tidur and Makan.” But that’s just it. If you really were ‘pious Malays’, then you would perform what Islam regards as the most important task of all. And that is to practice ‘amar makruf, nahi munkar’. You know what that means, right? It means to uphold righteousness and fight against evil.

According to Islam, there are many levels of riba’ (usury) and the sin of the lowest level of riba’ tantamount to the sin of sexual intercourse of with your own father/mother (to quote Sheikh Imran Hosein). Usury means to earn money without any titik-peluh (without sweating or without doing any hard work). And bribery is within the category of riba’.

While I constantly hear Malays bashing other Malays regarding this man or that woman being involved in sexual misconduct, there is a deafening silence from Malays about the sin of riba’ (bribery) when that sin tantamount to the sin of sexual intercourse with your own mother/father.

So which ‘pious Malays who remain pure’ are you referring to? The Malays who remain silent about what matters most -- corruption, abuse of power, plundering of the national coffers, etc?

2. Feel free to bash Malays and Muslims here. You guys just made my work easier to explain to the Malay community how hypocrite you guys are. You guys talk about "Colour blind policy la, no discrimination la, equality la", then when RPK comes to Malay-Muslim bashing, it seems you guys changed to the other side of coin.

By the way, I'll start a campaign amongst my Malay friends and relatives to vote for Malays only. Judging from the comments in
Malaysia Today for many years, I dare to say that I don't trust you non-malay guys..!! -- Anti-secularist

Anti-secularist, I agree with you and this is what I have been saying for so, so many years. If I write an article critical of the Malays/Muslims, the applause brings the house down. But if I make one, just one, remark against the Indians, the Hindraf people will scream RACIST! And if I criticise the Chinese, suddenly I am no longer a towering Malay, a national hero, and whatnot. Suddenly I am a chao kah bugger (bangsat).

I have reminded the Chinese from way back that they whack the Malays/Muslims at their own peril. It just makes it easier for PERKASA, PEKIDA, Umno, etc., to tell the Malays to vote Umno because the Chinese are their enemies and not their friends. And all they need to do is come to Malaysia Today for the proof to support this allegation.

3. I remembered when you posted videos instead of articles under this column not to long ago. I also remembered that after one or two days you updated those videos with Chinese translation. Why so Pete?

Reason I ask is that why can't you have your articles translated into Malay? The article above and most of your writings describe what you see wrong with Malay Muslims in this country. Your articles about what you see wrong with the Malay mindset should be given to the Malays to be read. Sadly as I am sure you are aware the level of English mastery (at least among the Malays) in this country is pathetic, most Malays would not get the message you are trying to send in your articles.

As you might be aware as well, Malays in general do not like to be mocked or to be told that they've been doing things wrong. However sometimes tough love has to be given but sadly your tough love message to the Malays I'm afraid is not being fully understood. Please try and find someone who can translate your articles into Malay. Could you also make sure the translation does not lose its intended message. -- Shafiq

Shafiq, the Chinese who translated my articles into Chinese did it on their own initiative. I did not ask them to do it. I am trying to get people to also translate my articles into Malay but no one seems to be interested or to have the time.

Some Malays, on their own initiative, have launched a Bahasa Malaysia version of Malaysia Today. The address is here: http://m2daybm.blogspot.com/. The problem is to get people to translate my articles. “Please try and find someone who can translate your articles into Malay,” you said. I would be very prepared to allow YOU (and maybe some of your friends if you can speak to them) to help do this translation work. Are you interested?

I am tired of people telling me that I should do this and should do that. Why can’t YOU do it? If it needs to be done, and if it is important enough, then do it yourself. Don’t keep expecting others to do it. Do you expect me, alone, to do the work of educating the Malays and to try to change their mindset?

Is not Islam about the ummah? We call ourselves ‘Ummah Islam’, the Muslim Community. So where is this community spirit that Islam shouts about? Why is the community sleeping?

I know Malays do not like to be mocked. Nobody likes to be mocked, not even I. But the Malays have a saying: sayang anak, kena pukul. So I whack the Malays not because I hate the Malays but because I love them (in fact, I love ALL Malaysians whether they are Malays or otherwise). And I have said this before. If I hated the Malays I would just ignore them and let them dig their own graves and bury themselves in the ground.

Shafiq, you just do not know how much my heart bleeds for the Malays. When I was in my 20s and 30s back in the 1970s and 1980s, I used the gentle approach. Then I was in the Dewan Perniagaan Melayu. That was 30 or 40 years ago. I am now 61. How long do you think I still have to live? In maybe 10 years time (or could be less) I will be dead. I no longer enjoy the luxury of time. Time is not on my side. I am in a hurry before I die. So now I whack, whack, whack, and then go to my grave knowing I have tried my best for the people of my father’s ethnicity. The rest I leave to God.

4. Uncle Pete,

Is there any possibility maybe in another 20, 30, 40 years so on, that Muslim can convert to Christian peacefully in Malaysia? Or it will be never happen? -- HermoineGranger

HermoineGranger, I don’t know. But by then I will not be around any longer anyway. My task now, while I am still alive, is to try to make the Muslims convert to Islam. That in itself is so difficult. They think they are already practising Islam but in reality they are not.

So let’s talk about now, not about 20, 30, or 40 years in the future when I will already be dead.

And for those other comments, sorry that I did not respond here. If I do, this piece will be ten pages long.

It’s wicked for RPK to say “The Malay mind can be summarised in just three words - sex, sex, sex!”

Well, it is pretty obvious from the religion which many Malays profess, Islam. Suicide bombers are promised 72 virgins in paradise, the righteous men are promised 72, continuously horny and the man will have permanent erection! No mention of similar for the female suicide bombers; likely they become part of the heavenly virgins population for the pleasure of their male counterparts.

Meanwhile, in earthly times, pedophilia is permitted with men allowed to marry child brides. Then there is the obsession with covering the woman's hair (on the head) less the male, horny Muslims, get aroused.

So sex! sex! sex!, it is.

Should make it strict for bumi to speak & write fluent malay, english, chinese, india, dll or get their citizenship revoked. Last of all, everyone should be assimilated (follow the most civilized culture) then we can have full unconditional equality. All the commie supporting malay should be investigated and if found guilty should be shipped to pulau jerejak and have all their assets seized by the government of PR.

we;ve been hearing alot of malay roasting, now time for some chinese roasting:
Problem with chinese is that they always complain about things but when push comes to shove not many will step forward. Even if there are a few chinese who do, they will criticize those guys, nothing is ever good enough, grass is always greener on the other side, always think that they are superior than others. When Malays perform better than them, they say its cronyism, nepotism and all that. They never want to take responsibility for their own action, talk only but do nothing. Most dont have the balls to do anything to correct the wrongs, always playing it safe. Most dont have manners, except for the educated christians, always selfish. Get government contract also complain dont get contract also complain. If malaysia is such a bad place for chinese, we wont have alot of rich chinese tycoons here.... look at yourself first, before blaming others. Maybe you are the problem, you are the loser, Cheers!

The reason a lot of your readers (as you claimed) gets excited when you bash Malays is because Malaysians, for generations have been brainwash to associate Malays / Islam with UMNO.

At its heart, everyone has a bone to grind with UMNO, not Malay or Islam.

Everyone should work hard to change each other's perception that UMNO and Malay and Islam are all separate.

As for me now, I'm equally excited if you bash MCA or MIC.

Hi ALL

Oh Boy, Is This Philosophy Right

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinborough, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."
The Obituary follows:

Born 1776, Died 2011
It doesn't hurt to read this several times.

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million McCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
"complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's - and they vote - then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

Sounds very familiar doesn't it? Sorry - here this does not involve SEX and the Malay Mind. It is simply the mind of a FXXXKED up being living in any democratic country

You will never get rid of racism. Look at America, it got rid of slavery and gave equal rights to the blacks. But when you go to blogs and websites like Liveleak, you'll see people still harping the N-word and hating the blacks to death. Thing is there will always be the "extremist", but the government must always be in the middle and continue to express equality by its reforms and governance. Not just by coming out and saying we support "moderates" but in the meantime having their proxies spread hatred and fears. If the government can stop MAINSTREAM media from doing this, its already a big step.

The fact is this is what we think of each other in a negative way

1) Malay are lazy just take government's money and depends on handout
2) Chinese are greedy and just want to keep by themselves
3) Indians are drunk and violent

As long as these perception is alive we can never move forward. For a change why not our reader starts to really concentrate on solution for our country Malaysia instead of pointing out what is wrong in each other. These perception may not even be true here. I do not agree with Anti-Securitist and RPK that any articles critical of the non-Malays will also provoke a nasty verbal retaliation. I for one, will accept any criticism of myself, my race or my religious beliefs if the criticism is well founded, has an element of truth in it, true when seen from a different perspective and arises out of a genuine concern and consideration for fairness and truth. In life, we often never bother to change and will stick to the status quo in our mindset and the way we do things when we think we are right and everything is smooth sailling for us. It is only when things are no longer smooth sailling anymore and we are having all kinds of problems, that we become introspective and question our own belief systems and the way we interact with others. So, it is good when others criticise us. If the critisms are well founded, then we can accept the criticisms and make the effort to change for the better and be a better and wiser person. The motive behind the criticism is important. I will not however, accept any criticism which is based on prejudice, dislike, anger, hatred, chauvinism and bigotry.

Most Canadians allow for gentle rubbing of each other's race if they have known each other for a while and are comfortable with it and mean well and it comes from having a deep understanding and respect f the other's culture and a good way to improve acceptance. I just want to listen to the quiet flow of a stream and the tweeting of the birds and as I sit dangling my feet into the water I can't but help feel joyful to see 2 Malay boys 3 Chinese Girls and 3 Indian boys and 2 Indian girls and another 3 Malay girls laughing and giggling and playing in the water. At age 5 to 6 I wish we all can be like them.......no race..no religion..no barriers...and my ugly wish is just get rid of all the bigots God..who will very soon divide these children in a couple of years...

Dear RPK, there is this woman in Singapore today who is 114 years old and her name is Teresa Hsu. She has given selfishly her kindness, love and care to the poor, needy, homeless and the aged who are without relatives. She was once asked what she thought about religion. She said she was brought up as a Roman Catholic but she is free-spirited, religion to her today is all about "I am right and you are wrong". Why can't we all be right and wrong in our own ways and not judge others in respective of their religion ? The world would be a much peaceful place to live for all fellow human beings - love and share.

I guess all Malaysians need to be Whack, wHack, whAck till all wake up and realized that its all a dream and they are in hell. If all continue to enjoy dreaming then this will be hell for a long time to come.

Certain people or group of people are good at certain things and they excel in it. What is wrong with this? Why must all participate or do the same thing or job? Is this call fairness or is it really envy and coveting? This problem came from the evil of greed and lust as the people refuse to share their expertise, wealth, resources, blessing with all Malaysians. If all the gains and prosperity of this Malaysia are equally or fairly shared by all , why is there a need for all or worst certain race to have a share in that particular area? is this not because of envy and the works of evil that cause us to steal and rob others by laws and policies in favor of them? Is it not the will of God for one to be born into a group and speak the language but free to chose his faith and do what he think is fair and good for himself and for all? Are we serving God or ourselves?

Its true . The best way to wake up the Malays , Chinese, Indians are their own . But how many Malays are brave or free enough to whack their own as the Malays are easily angered and feel insulted by every words of criticism. ? Even the apostates had to hide and worship their new god in this repressive state of the present government and ideology. And we the free people can only dream and hope all this will change soon with the help of the one and only true God of Love. and Mercy.

ALL GOOD AND PIOUS READERS

compared to the old malaysia today, the quality of comments seems distinctly lower now.

there seems to be a distinct agenda behind them. not unlike what happened at a popular local motoring blog which has been over-run by cyber-troopers of a certain manufacturer.

how to cast community B in a bad light in the eyes of community A? by pretending to be members of community B and hurling abuses at community A.

on the internet, no-one knows if you are a cat, let alone A or B or C.

Dear anti-secularist, there must more reason to it when you said you don't trust non-Malay guys judging from the comments posted in MT by readers. You must understand MT has remained the most open avenue todate for the aggrieved non-Malay guys to vent their long bottled-up frustrations against a corrupt and arrogant government which perennially uses race and religion to divide and control her citizens. It is because Malaysians are having this absolutely unprincipled government that her citizens have become suspicious of each other.

Some non-Malays have been saying what they said in MT, sometimes even venting their anger at the Malays (mainly UMNO-inclined Malays) is because there is reasonable liberty to express themselves truly and freely. They may be harsh at times but most meant well for the country. UMNO-controlled MSM do not offer such luxury. UMNO has caused this predicament for all. That's the reason why Malaysia, after more than five decades of Independence, is still badly entangled in a web of self-deceit and distrust and unable to move forward steadily as a united nation.

Dear anti-secularist, there is no doubt that race-based UMNO is the cause of Malaysia's current malady and the direct answer for your continuing distrust of non-Malay guys. In the final analysis, we in MT are all concerned Malaysians eagerly hoping and working tirelessly to change UMNO's inept rule as soon as possible for a new hope of a more harmonious, united and better Malaysia, a Malaysian sun for all. Hope you and our other Malay brothers will truly understand other fellow Malaysians and non-Malay guys better and live with less suspicions caused by UMNO's bad political handiwork.

So when come to society, other people, esp senior people, we can take their comments or criticism in a positive way. In fact, I think we gain lot from people criticizing us, we can review ourselves and learn if the criticism is sincere and genuine, if not just ignore it. RPK, I deeply appreciate what you are doing now, to me you are whacking not Malay, Chinese or Indian, but the imperfection of Human Being! When I first discovered Malaysia Today some 7 or 8 years ago I was shocked by the many racist comments from your readers of every ethnic origin. The racism, bigotry and offensive remarks made by these people made me think that Malaysia Today was a platform to promote hatred amongst Malaysians. Even my comments about how we should avoid being a racist in this forum was attacked by the extreme right and extreme left.

Today its sad to say, we as a society, have not progressed much in terms of accepting differences in opinion and differences in speech, culture, religion and color of our skin. RPK for all he has done over the years, reminding us to be as Malaysian as we possibly can, to do away with our prejudices against others that are 'different' from us, has not achieved any significant success, judging from the many racist and bigoted remarks still appearing in this forum.

Pete,

As you said you whacked the malays because you love them more than the chinese and indians whom you whacked lesser as compared.

No matter whom you love less, it doe not matter. You did it for their good and for now they are too blind to see any good.

It's not about chinese discriminating the malays or other races but when one lives in a country like malaysia where the different spheres of the country are controlled by different races, i guess nasty remarks/comments/innuendoes will be heard more relating to that particular sphere as controlled by them.

Pete, we need to change the umno led government before we can effectively see an positive change in any area of concerned. Am i saying that the PR government will any better? Your guess is good as mine. But i dare to venture to say that we, the raykat, will be less forgiving and tolerantwhen they mess up. The rakyat will have a bigger voice as compared to now. We can demand a lot more with the PR government. They know it and they can't simply do anything without our consent. If the PR government messes with the rakyat we will whack them harder than the bn government, this i am sure.

When PR comes to sit in Putrajaya, sex-a four letter word, corruption-a four letter word, extremism-a four letter word, will be LESS mentioned. I hope by which time ( i believe you will still be around) Malaysia will no longer be a four letter word but a 3 star rating country. Wishful???? Perhaps!

Quote: "My task now, while I am still alive, is to try to make the Muslims convert to Islam. That in itself is so difficult. They think they are already practising Islam but in reality they are not. "

Pete, you are absolutely right on this. The problem is Muslims do not read the Holy Quran to understand its meaning. They just recite the Holy Quran passages without understanding it. How can they be guided when they do not read to understand the Holy Quran? I have Muslim friends who confided in me that they just recite their prayers without understanding its meaning! At the end of the day, they will just follow what they hear about the religion without reflecting on the teachings of Islam. What they hear may not be right. And if you are stress free have lots of time with a mind full of sex then one will bonk just about everyone they can lay their hands on. The Malay community is just like a cornered community. We have been fooled by the Brits big time here. The word 'MALAY' to describe a race did not exist until the British coined up the term in the late 1800s. Before that there were terms such as 'Orang Semenanjung' as an example. I for one am called a Malay by everyone and yet in my heart I know that I am a mix of Javanese, Bugis, Chinese, Palembang to name a few. I am proud of my heritage and till today I keep in contact with my relatives in Java and Sumatera. Here in Malaysia, I can buy a house with an inbuilt discount, be corrupt and drive fancy cars and most time be polygamous. I chose not to call myself Malay as I find it to be an insult and a tool for you to forget your roots, something the Brits did not want you to (remember your roots).

Now, if you look at the ones shouting the loudest about Malay Supremacy, you will notice that they are mostly of Indian decent. Mamaks to be precise. These are the people who are ashamed to even be called Indian, for reasons best known to them. Add on top of this the mental conditioning in thinking that anything Arab is godsend, then you have a perfect recipe to churn out ZOMBIES with no mind of their own. What they term as ISLAM is nothing more than taking the Arab culture (if they have any) of the desert as what GOD prescribed. What GOD prescribed, the peaceful way of life, has been corrupted beyond repair so much so that blowing yourself up in crowded places has become the norm.

Pete, what you are doing, trying to free these SLAVES is noble indeed. It is an uphill battle but worth the effort. For those who wants to find out why I call the Islam they practice as nothing more than Arabism and DISBELIEVE please visit mentalbondageinthenameofgod.wordpress.com

For those who refuse to change, then remain SLAVES for the rest of your wretched life.

Oh by the way there is a big debate about Islamic State currently. There are a few Islamic State such as Denmark, Norway etc and we should strive to be like them instead. Name me one peaceful Arab country? The answer is NONE.

Shalom

Sex is part of being human in procreation for the next generation. It's not bad but it's the doer that should take responsibility for the action. Sex should be on mutual consent by either parties involved. The root causes of the socials ills maybe due to their background when they were growing up that may include culture, values and also the direct teachings of the parents to the child. If a child is brought up with the right values which may include religious and generational values which may include serving the society before yourself. Most probably this wouldn't be much of a problem.

The issue of taking bribe is sth in my humble opinion and real experience is due to the fact that IT"S MY RIGHT to do so cos I'm entitled to special privileges that you're not. I've heard so many times from such people that they were being played out but stil they want to talk to you about 'projects'. Pay money upfront and let them do the necessary without transparency on what's going on. So if the money is lost, don't ask for refund cos there ain't any cos you can't prove that I've taken your money in the first place.

Such vicious cycle of a conman game is happening due to such special privileges for the supreme race in little malaysia. The supreme race is the most intelligent race in little malaysia cos they could walk horizontally/diagonally with the rest only one way i.e. straight.

Seek out the root causes on such ills cos human are very clever at making another human a sucker if the environment permits it especially with the politikus support. The one elected to represent the electorates are the ones that originates such social ills...is there any truth to this????

If there is none, let is create one.
If there is no race bashing, there is no fun.
Except for Zaid and Kita, no other party fights for malay's right to freedom of faith.
If a malay is caught for hudud crimes, can he suddenly declare that he is non-muslim?
Is the definition of "muslim" officially correct? In my opinion, it is wrong. For the koran warns people about promoting things other than "God'.
So if you guys take partners other than "God", like religion, or priests, which means you put religion or advuise from priests as equal to the word of God. then you may face the wrath in the next life, no?

I cringe everytime you go into excruciating detail explaining articles for standard 1 level but I appreciate it. Thank you for not molly-coddling the rakyat but taking the tough love stand.

IMHO, the fixation on sex stems from the lack of adequate sex education in schools and at home (yes, parents you did a lousy job). Thanks too goes to the GOM's suppression on media and literature. I am sure if there was a log-in counter to porn sites, we would be right there at the top.

Some commentators have said it repeatedly that we cannot just sponge up and regurgitate information.The lack of info processing is a result of how we were taught in schools.

Hmm..m very interesting lesson on why the Malays are so fixated on sex!!
But, hey - aren't just about every normal adult male , in particular!!

I'm no academician either but perhaps u can add suppressed sexuality to that, to be taught it is as sin to expose ur aurat to non male relatives must force a lot of the sexual energies to find new channels of expressions!! smilies/grin.gifsmilies/grin.gifsmilies/grin.gif;smilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gif
