(The Star) - A senior lawyer was charged with seven counts of insider trading involving Sime Darby, UEM, VADS and Maxis stocks on Friday.

Sreesanthan Eliathamby (pix), 52, claimed trial to the charges that were read as three cases.

The alleged offenses occurred at Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, Bukit Kewangan, KL between Oct 9 2006 and April 27 2008.

Sessions judge Jadgit Singh set bail at RM300,000 for all the charges and fixed Sep 20 for case management.
